The Sirius from Snooper - serious sat nav

Getting lost on the way to location is a nightmare!

In fact just getting to a field in Henley-on-Thames at six in the morning, in horizontal rain, in winter, on time and without an ulcer, heart burn, indigestion or even a minor coronary is one of the daily traumas that faces all of us that work in the ridiculous business that we call show.

Everyone from the star and his driver, to the director and the prop master or even the film extra face the same predicament; how to avoid the traffic jams, speeding tickets and road blocks yet get to where you?re going to in one piece.

The answer is simple get a sat nav. However there are so many on the market, which one is the best?

I have tried most of them - the Tom Tom (good but bulky ? the new slim line model looks better), the Garmen (small but fiddly) and the Alpine (old fashioned and large). In my opinion, by far the most impressive is the Snooper Sirius (www.snoopers.co.uk), not only is it beautiful to look at (think PS2 portable but smaller) it is also easy to use with one hell of a lot of power.

It features a touch screen operation, updateable information on speed cameras, traffic congestion, and even measures accurately your e.t.a?.

It has a pretty blue sky with clouds when in 3D mode but doesn?t go dark with street lamps at night (which is a pity). This quite simply is the dog?s bollocks of sat nav?s and if you are thinking of putting one on your birthday list then this is the one to have, it even shows you the location of the nearest petrol station is, or tells you where the nearest ice rink is, which is priceless.

If you are a film extra and serious about being one, there is no better way of spending your hard earned money ? it?s worth very penny just for your peace of mind.
