The latest update on the fortunes of a movie called "Two Men Went To War?"
Chris Villiers and Richard Everett wrote the film "Two Men Went to War" in the year 2000. It is an extraordinary and true story of two dentists who invaded occupied France in April 1942, having sent a letter to Winston Churchill explaining their motives.
The film was completed, under the direction of John Henderson by Christmas 2001, ready for a November 2002 release. The film opened on November 11th in London at the UGC, Shaftesbury Avenue and has since played in over 200 UK cinemas with Guerrilla Films handling the distribution.
The exciting news is that now it is about to open in North America:
The film has been booked to play from March 26th at the Angelika cinema in New York's Soho. Followed by Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco shortly afterwards. Surprisingly and for some wonderful and slightly eccentric reason, the film has also been booked to open in Houston, Texas ? god bless ?em and may they all go several times.
The American poster, as is often the case, is different from the UK release:
However luckily for Chris and Richard the film, despite this exposure to the US market, still stars Derek Jacboi (Gladiator), Ken Cranham (Gangster No1), James Fleet (Four Weddings), Leo Bill (28 Days Later), Julian Glover (Troy) and Phyllida Law (Saving Grace).
The film is available in this country on DVD and video from all good stockists. If you would like to find out more about the film, please visit the Official Web Site.
