The 2020 Acting Classes ventured to Somerset for a CAMPING WEEKEND to descover the joys of acting in the open air!
Camera technique on location
Arriving on Friday in the rain, Chris Villiers, Richard Trinder, Kate Arneil, Nick Asbury and Liz Mackechniet set out with the students for the pub and a currey, nervous of quite what camping, let alone teaching acting, would be like in the rain.
Taking a bow
However no one needed to have worried, as the sun shone for the entire weekend and short films were shot, radio plays were recorded, openair plays were rehearsed and performed and voice classes were taught.
The Amphitheatre
The results were inspirational, as the students found their voice and the teachers cooked up a storm by providing bar-b-cue meals at the close of the day.
Hooray - it's over!
The high point of the weekend was an impromptu performance around the camp fire late at night, in which Khalid al Malki performed an epic poem of his own writing, Kate Arneil sang beatufully, each group perfomed an earth dance! and the stars shone brightly. It was indeed a very special weekend!
