2020 have embarked upon yet another short film. The title of this new endeavour is 'Postcards from the Front', using students from the 2020 Acting Classes, Chris Villiers and Liz Mckechnie once more girded their loins and set off to Margate with a script in their hands and hope in their hearts for a weekend of film making.

Arriving on Thursday evening in readiness for?a three day shoot, the crew quickly set about firming up the locations and discussing shots and camera angles. By nine o'clock the following morning the cameras were rolling and the film was underway.

Postcards from the Front : tells the story of a group of football fans, who gather every year to importalise the life and times of Wally Lyons, 'the best right boot West Ham and England ever had'. They meet to celebrate his birthday, each bringing with them a piece of Wally Lyons Memorabilia that they ave collected over the years. This birthday celebration has been organise by Harry (James Lowe), who has chosen the Walpole Bay Hotel, Margate, because Wally once stayed there in 1952. However that is not the only secret that is to be revealed.

With a schedule that demanded not only accuracy of lines but also performance and a great deal of the 'dunkrik spirit' that has become synonymous with these projects, the cast and crew worked together flat out and the film was eventually completed by late on Sunday night and a battered and bruised cast and crew returned to London and a well earned rest.

Postcards is now in the hands of the editors and a screening will be announced when this latest of the 2020 Acting Class projects can be seen in all its glory.

The evenings celebrations turn into an ugly?free for all, when a special guest (Patrick Ruane) is invited to read?an extert from?a diary written by a woman called Grace Kemp. The diary tells the intimate secrets of a liason between her, Wally and another lady called Patricia Lyle who partook in a threesome in room 25 of the very same hotel.

It transpires that peoples memories of Wally Lyons are changed from that point on ..
